Patterns written the way you'd explain them to a friend
YarnHook started as a folder of handwritten notes from beginner classes: the questions people actually asked, and the explanations that finally made things click. Now it's a free library of crochet patterns and tutorials, written for people who want to understand what their hook is doing.
How every pattern is written
- A stitch count at the end of every round, so you can check your work before moving on.
- US crochet terms, with UK equivalents in our stitch guide.
- Hook, yarn weight and skill level up front, so you know what you need before you start.
- Tested before publishing. Every pattern is stitched at least twice, and a second maker checks the counts.
Who writes YarnHook
Maya Linden, pattern designer and crochet teacher. Maya has been crocheting for fifteen years and teaching beginner classes for eight. Every YarnHook pattern is stitched and tested by her before it's published.
